Return buttons are situated at the bottom of the
appropriate pages. However, if you click on the
GoforGOLF logo in the top left hand corner of the
page, you will be returned to the HOME page.
Or you can choose the HOME button on the Menu.
New Windows - Pages that open in new windows should be closed by clicking
the X in the very top right hand of the new page to return to the originating
page.
Club Menu situated down the left hand side of
each club page is a reactive menu. Items that are available for the club being
viewed are bright and live. If the page is not available for the club / course
the menu item is dull and will not react.
Course Finder
Top
The ‘Course Finder’ operates the same in all
areas of the GoforGOLF web site. It is designed to
assist you to find the course you have played or find the course you may
wish to play.
If you have selected a course as your default
course, the Course Finder will default to that course.
Otherwise it will default to our Demonstration Course.
To Find a Course - The input boxes are numbered to help.
1) Select a Country - All selections from now will search
the country you have selected.
This will have defaulted to your own country if you have selected a default course,
in your details.
2) Then you can select
By Location
Or - Search by Name - entering part of the club name
Or - View FULL Directory - Which will list all courses
for the country either by Name or Location
Click on the Club / Course name on the list and
you will return to the 'Select a Course' page with the course displayed in the 'COURSE' box
3) ENSURE the course you seek is displayed in the Box 3
If the course you seek is not already displayed in the 'Course Box',
you can click the arrow, and select a course from the same location or commence again.
VIEW - Once you have the chosen course displayed in '3'
you can 'View Course Information'
Or . . . if entering a score, go to the next section below to
start the Enter your Score section. (You need to be registered and 'Sign In'
before being able to 'Enter your Score'.
Clicking on the country or location name will activate the
next section. If this doesn't happen you may need to press the ‘Go’ button.
If the course you
have played is not available, then press ‘Add Course’. You will then be able
to add the course and tee you played and
immediately enter your score against it.
Register

Register to obtain your "access
number"
Registration is required for
GoforGOLF to allocate you with an ‘access number’.
This number is used to identify your scores and for you to access your scores so
that you can review them at any later time and to create the analysis,
"Just Like the Pros". You will also be asked to enter
your own ‘password’, giving access to your information to only you.
The scores you enter are held confidentially
and are only accessed by you or people you give your password to.
(See LegalStuff - be careful to
protect your password and do not to give it to anyone else - unless you
want them to view your results).
Registration is free and simple, requiring you to enter some
basic information that GoforGOLF needs to identify
you. Your email address is required so that we can confirm your
registration. Note that the items marked with an asterisk (*) are
required to be entered, the other information is useful to us to
identify areas we can improve GoforGOLF.
Select the district of your ‘Home or default Course’
and then select your course. This will be used to
default the system to this course when you enter the web site and
"Sign-In with the Starter". This means you only have to
select the Tee you used to enter your score. (To enter a score from
another course use the ‘Course Finder’).
Enter your ‘Handicap/Index’. This will be used to
calculate your ‘Stableford and Corrected’ scores. Make sure you keep
this updated with any change. This can be done by clicking the 'Change your Details'
button on the Menu, or at the time of entering a score. (If you are in a country
that uses the Slope Rating Handicaping system, this is your 'Handicap Index').
Change your Details
You can change your details at any time. Once
you have ‘Signed In’, select the ‘Change your Details’ button on the Menu.
‘Handicap/Index’ - You can change Handicap/Index here your when
you are entering your score. Enter the change and press ‘Submit’.
‘Password’ - You can change you password at any time.
It is suggested this is done at a regular interval. It is recommended that your
password is at least 6 characters and made up of letters and numbers. It is not
recommended to use easily guessed passwords such as your name, initials or
date of birth. Make the change and press ‘Submit’.
(If you lose or forget your password, email the
administrator at greg@goforgolf.com giving
sufficient details for us to confirm your identity, such as address, email address etc.,
and we will email it to you. On receiving your password, we suggest that you immediately
change your password to ensure security.
Add an Associate Player
If you play golf with friends and relations who do
not have access to the Internet, you can add them as associate
players, under your access number. You will then be able to enter their
scores and receive analysis of their scores.
Register
an Associate Player
Register an Associate Player without losing an
information.
An associate player can register at any time,
and have their own ‘access number’ and ‘password’. The scores that have
been entered for them as an associate will move with them to their own
registration.
Club and School Team Managers
Register your team members as Associate Players and
use GoforGOLF to track and trace their play and development.
Print the 'Analysis Card' for your course to assist your team to record the
additional information for their round.
Scores

Sign-In to Enter Scores
To enter a score, select the "Scores" button on the Home page,
or select the ‘ENTER a Score’ button on the Menu.
This will take you to the ‘Sign-In to Enter Scores’ page.
Like any course, you have to check in with the
‘starter’ before you can commence to play your round, so
"Sign-In with the GoforGOLF Starter".
Enter the "Access Number" you received
when you registered and the password that you entered on the
registration form, then press the "Sign In" button. This will
take you to the ‘Scores and Analysis’ page so that you can enter your
score. It will also display scores you have entered previously so that
you can view, edit and analyse them.
Scores and Analysis
Select the Tee Played - Having selected your course, see Course Finder
above, then select the Tee you played. If the Tee you played is not available,
then press ‘Add a Tee’. You will then be able to add the tee and immediately
enter your score against it.
Having selected the Tee, select the player whose score you are
entering. This will default to you, but if you have Associate Players, click the arrow
to display a list to select the player required.
Advanced Analysis - If you wish to enter Advanced Analysis details, then tick the
‘Advanced Scoring’ box by clicking the mouse. (See Advanced Analysis).
Slope Rating Handicap - If you wish to use the Slope Rating Handicap system, tick the
‘Slope Rating Handicap' box by clicking the mouse. If you live in a country that
uses the US Slope rating Handicap system, you can select this in your details, and then
this will default to ticked all the time. If you play in a country that doesn't use
the Slope System, the course will not have a Slope Rating entered
Enter Score - Now press the "Enter a Score" Button, and the
scorecard for the course you selected will be displayed read for your score to
be entered.
Enter a Score
Enter the date and time (Morning or Afternoon) of your game.
Handicap/Index - If your Handicap/Index has changed,
over type the shown Handicap. To update your Player Details, tick the box.
Course Handicap - Your Course Handicap will be calculated
from the Slope rating of the tee you played and your Handicap Index.
If the course does not have a Slope rating entered, your Handicap Index will be
rounded. If this is not the Handicap or Course Handicap that you used to play
the round, then overtype the figure.
(If the course does not have its Slope Ratings entered into
GoforGOLF, Please help us by emailing them to us so we can
update our records).
Notes on this game - Your are then able to enter notes on this particular
game that you will be able to view every time you look at the results of
this round of golf. E.g. What is the course like? How hard was it
blowing and from what direction? Do you wish to play this course
again?
Notes on your game - You are then able to enter notes on YOUR game.
These notes will stay with you and will be displayed ever time your enter or
view a score you have entered. E.g. What do you need to practice most?
9 or 18 holes - Select whether you have played 9 holes or 18 holes.
If you have only played 9 holes, untick the appropriate box (Standard scoring only).
Enter your Score - Then, by using the ‘Tab’ key, proceed to enter your
score. Mark any holes where you entered a circled score by clicking with the mouse.
Circled Score - A score is circled when you pick up your ball before
completing the hole. Etiquette - This is often done in fun or non competition games to keep the
play moving and so not to hold up the players behind. I recommend that you enter an assesed score for
the hole, 11, 12 or ??? whatever, so that the scorecard is effectively completed.
GoforGOLF will thne calculate your corrected score, based on your
Course Handicap.
Check your score totals then confirm your score by
pressing the ‘Submit’ button.
Score Report
After pressing the ‘Submit’ button on the
'Enter a Score' page, a Score Report will be displayed.
This will include a header panel, setting out your
handicap/index, course handicap, the date, time, course and tee used for the round.
Also dsiplayed is the Slope Rating and Course Rating for the course.
A score card detailing your Gross, Stableford and
Corrected scores.
A summary of the number of Birdies, Pars, Bogeys etc.
for your round.
Corrected Score - The corrected score is used
by the official golf association in your country for the purposes of calculating
your Handicap/Index. It is based on your present handicap and the stroke or index
of each particular hole. It is used where you have hit an excessive number of shots on
a hole, and that score is adjusted to the score you would have hit if you had
achieved 1 stableford point. This is to take out the fluxuations from your
scorecard, and produce a score that is more reflective of your average
game.
The Score Report can also be accessed at any time
by selecting the round from the ‘Previous Scores' box displayed at the bottom of the
'Scores and Analysis' page, in the 'Edit and Analyse your Score' section.
Highlight the round by clicking on it with the mouse, then press the
‘Report Score’ button below the box. This page can also be accessed through
the 'Analysis Reports' button on the menu.
Edit a Score
If you find you have made an error in
entering your score, select the round concerned from the ‘Previous
Scores’ box displayed at the bottom of the 'Scores and Analysis' page,
in the 'Edit and Analyse your Score' section. Highlight the round by
clicking on it with the mouse, then press the ‘Edit Score’ button
below the box. This page can also be accessed through
the 'Analysis Reports' button on the menu.
The scores entered can be changed and circled scores
marked. On pressing the ‘Submit’ button, the ‘Score Report’
will be recalculated and redisplayed.
Delete a Score
If you wish to delete a score then select
the round concerned from ‘Previous Scores’ box displayed at the bottom
of the 'Scores and Analysis' page, in the 'Edit and Analyse your Score'
section. Highlight the round by clicking on it with the mouse, then press
the ‘Delete Score’ button below the box.
Remember, once deleted it is gone forever, and
will no longer be included in your analysis reports.
Analysis

Standard Analysis
To Analyse your scores select the 'Analyse Reports' button on
the Menu, and proceed to the 'Edit and Analyse your Score' section, at the bottom of the
'Scores and Analysis' page.
Select the ‘Standard’ analysis button from below the ‘Previous Scores'
box.
This will take you to the ‘Standard Score Report’
selection page.
Select one of the courses/tees displayed for analysis
of the games played on that course, or All Courses, then the game period
to analyse from the last 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 days.
Tick the box to include 9-hole games. The press the 'Report'
button below the box.
From this selection you will receive a Game Report
that will include:
Basis of Analysis - Course, Tee, Period Selected,
minimum and maximum handicap for the period and
the number of Rounds and holes covered by the period.
Round Summary - Gross, Stableford and Corrected Scores
for the Best, Average, Worst score for the period as well as your All-Time Best
for the course and tee selected.
Game Summary - A break down by number and percentage
of Eagles, Birdies, Pars, Bogeys etc. for the games selected.
Average and Best Score per Hole - A hole-by-hole break down
of Average scores for Gross, Stableford and Corrected scores, and your best
score on each hole, for the period selected and your All-Time Best
Or you can select 'All Rounds' for a game
period, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 days. The Report will include Basis of Analysis,
Round Summary and Game Summary but will not include Average and Best
Score per Hole. Note that the Round Summary may be comparing Par 70
courses with Par 71 and Par 72 courses in this case
Read the ‘Advanced Analysis’ to see the additional
analysis you can receive. You can use the Advanced Analysis reporting function,
even though you have not entered any Advanced scores.
Advanced Analysis
To Analyse your scores select the 'Analyse Reports' button on
the Menu, and proceed to the 'Edit and Analyse your Score' section, at the bottom of the
'Scores and Analysis' page.
Select the ‘Advanced’ analysis button from below the ‘Previous Scores'
box.
This will take you to the ‘Advanced Score Report’
selection page.
Select one of the courses/tees displayed for analysis
of the games played on that course, then the start date and finish date
for the game period.
NOTE FLEXIBILTY - This selection is under your control, and can cover
any game period you require, including the previous week, the previous
month, the same month last year or any other combination you wish.
From this selection you will receive a Game Report
that will include:
Basis of Analysis - Course, Tee, Period Selected,
minimum and maximum handicap for the period and
the number of Rounds and holes covered by the period.
Round Summary - Gross, Stableford and Corrected Scores
for the Best, Average, Worst score for the period as well as your All-Time Best
for the course and tee selected.
Game Summary - A break down by number and percentage
of Eagles, Birdies, Pars, Bogeys etc. for the games selected.
Average and Best Score per Hole - A hole-by-hole break down
of Average scores for Gross, Stableford and Corrected scores, and your best

- Fairways Hit,

- Greens in Regulation,

Or you can select ‘All Rounds’ for a game period.
The Report will include Basis of Analysis, Round Summary, Game Summary and
Play Summary, but will not include Average and Best Score per Hole.
Note that the Round Summary may be comparing Par 70
courses with Par 71 and Par 72 courses in this case

Courses

The ‘Course Finder’ is
supplied to assist you to find the course that
you have played or wish to play. You can search by Location, by name or
by a Full course directory. Once you have selected the course, press
the "View Course Information" button.
Course Information
GoforGOLF will display the
course name, address, contact numbers, along with their a short description
and all with their scorecard.
Clubs can also display up to 4 photos and/or
graphics below the scorecard to showcase their course and facilities.

A variety of additional information pages are able to be displayed
by participating clubs.
Course Guide -
A description of the course including course diagram, with a link to
a description of all or selected holes with distance, par, hole name,
diagrams and/or photographs.
Course Status -
A live page, updateable by the club staff, covering tee for the day,
rule for the day, any course closures, and member and visitor information
Club Features -
A summary listing of facilities at the club, including club and clubhouse
facilities, practice facilities, pro shop and coaching availability.
Local Rules -
Another live page, displaying the local and temporary rules of the course.
Bookings -
This can be a simple email connection, an input form, or a link to
an interactive tee booking system.
Club WebLINK -
The club can have a link to their own or separate website, or to
additional supporting pages, even to a local district website.
Location -
Description of the location of the club, and how to get there from surrounding
districts. This can include one or two maps or disgrams.
Analysis Card -
GoforGOLF supplies a printable scorecard with facilities for
entering further playing details, such as, putts, fairways hit, sand saves and
up and downs. This enables the player to take it home and enter his score
with Advanced Analysis of his game. See Advanced Analysis.
Slope Chart -
If the course is in a country that uses the US Slope rating Handicap system,
you can view the Slope Chart for the course. Note: This is not the
official Chart with can usually be found beside the starter or first tee at
the course.
Notice and Results Board -
. What ever you would put on your notice board can
be displayed for your members on the Notice Board. Competition results can be displayed
on the Results Board, and Tournament Results can be displayed live on the
Tournament Board.
Other Pages available to showcase
your club and course -
Information Pages -
Your Club can have a series of pages to attract players to the club, covering
Visitor information, membership, Corporate days and Functions. Also there can be
a Pro Shop page or pages covering equipment available as well as coaching.
There can also be background information covering, club history, Honours Board, Officers,
Holes in One, Reciprocal Clubs and Sponsors.

own website within the GoforGOLF structure, showcasing the
course and facilities, while still providing their members and visitors the
ability to keep a record of their rounds and obtain . . . "Analysis Just Like the Pros".

Add a Course
To Add a Course, you first need to
'Register'and 'Sign-In with the Starter'
If you can’t find the course , then Add It.
Use the 'Course Finder' to find your course.
If you are unable to find it, then 'Add it', by clicking the 'Add Course'
button at the left, or on the Menu.
To avoid duplication of courses, we ask that you check
for the course again, by entering part of the course name and pressing 'Search'.
(It may be have been loaded under a different district to the one your expect).
This will create a list of all courses on
GoforGOLF that matches the name entered. Please check
these carefully before commencing to 'Add a Course'. If you find your course,
but the information is incorrect, please email us with the changes required.
Items required are marked with an '*'. We ask,
to help us supply a comprehesive website, that if you have the other information
available, that you enter it, address and contact information.
Course Details - Enter the course name and address, select the country,
and press ‘Go’. This will load the available ‘locations’ within the country.
Select the location and enter the contact numbers if you have them available.
Then select whether the course is measured in yards or metres.
Tee - This will take you to the scorecard area, where you
select the tee colour. The tee name will default to the tee colour,
but can be over typed if it is different.
If the both the men and women use the same tee, they
will usually have different Slope and Course Ratings, so need to be entered
separately. This requires the tee name to be entered differently, i.e.
Mens White and Ladies White.
Ladies Tee - Tick if it is a ladies tee.
This distinguishes the different Hole Ratings.
Hole Detail - Then proceed to enter the
Distance, Stroke and Par
for each hole.
Stroke - The stroke of the hole is its rating
from 1 to 18 where 1 is the hardest hole and 18 is the easiest. It is
known by other names in different countries, such as, index, hole index,
rating etc. You cannot duplicate a number. These are checked at the
time of submitting the course or tee.
Default Course - If this course is your home course or is the course
you play regularly, tick the box at the bottom of the page and this course
will become your default course and appear in the course finder every time
you return to GoforGOLF to enter a score.
It is easiest to use the ‘Tab’ key to move from entry
to entry. When all are loaded, press the 'Submit' button.
Please use the ‘Find a Course’ button to view the course
input and check that the metres, stroke and par are correct.
The course is now available for you to load your scores.
GoforGOLF will try to check and complete
course details whenever possible, but, your assistance to ensure the
information is correct is appreciated.
Edit a Course
If you find an error in the course
you have loaded, return as if to 'Enter a Score'. An ‘Edit Course’ will now
appear below the 'Add Course' button.
Make the alteration and press the ‘Submit’ button.
You and the website administrators are the only people
who can edit the course information. This is to eliminate the possibility
of unauthorised people making mischievous changes. However, if we make a
change, it may restrict your access. If so, please email us with the changes
required.
Add a Tee
If you wish to add another tee, or have found
that the course you played and the tee you played is not shown in the
'Enter your Score' section, then press the ‘Add Tee’.
If the 'Add Tee' button does not appear for you, it
means that we believe all tees have been added for the particular course.
If this is incorrect please email me at greg@goforgolf.com with the details.
Ladies Tee - Tick if it is a ladies tee.

The tee is now available for you to load your scorecard.
Note: If you find when entering a tee,
that the Stroke is different from your card, it is probably
because the tees you played are of a different difficulty to the tees
already loaded. This is often because the Championship or Professional
tees are much longer and harder than the other tees. In this case,
please enter the new tee as a new course, entering the tee name after
the course name.

return as if to 'Enter a Score'. Go to the 'Enter a Score' section of the
'Score and Analysis' page where you will now find an ‘Edit Tee' button.

Club Notices and Results

The Notice facilities are under the control of club staff.
It is required to nominate members to be authorised to update notices.
This requires these members to have registered with GoforGOLF
and for us to set them up to access their clubs notices.
The entering of the notices does not require the members
to be internet knowledgeable, and a little practice will have them
efficiently setting out notices in no time. However, the more internet
knowledge will enable participants to do more impressive notices.
Instructions are issued to the authorised members
when the club registers with GoforGOLF.
Menu Items - For participating clubs the
menu items for the three notice board functions are live and easily
identified.
Club Notice Board
For participating clubs, the Club Notice
Board gives the facility for the club to keep members and visitors alike
updated with club news, events and occasions.
Whatever information or news the club would post on
their Notice Board in the locker rooms can be displayed on the
GoforGOLF notice board.
The notice board is a text based page, with an index
at the top that takes the viewer directly to the notice selected.
Competition Results
For participating clubs, the Competition
Results Board gives the facility for the club to keep members
updated with club results of all types, trophy winners, scramble winners
or even match play results.
The competition results notice board is a text based
page, also with an index at the top that takes the viewer directly to
the result selected.
Club Tournaments
Strokeplay Results displayed Live " Just like the Pros".
The GoforGOLF Club Tournament Results
function allows for clubs to display live results for all types of stroke play
competitions. This can be 'best of' tournaments, such as best 3 rounds out of 4,
2 round, 3 round, 4 round etc. tournaments, over a weekend or over a series of dates.
The GoforGOLF Club Tournament Results
function is a programme based system, and can be updated after each round
or entered as the players complete their round.
Keep up-to-date with who is winning the club
competitions, and what scores they had.
