For those devoted TV watchers there is not going be much of a break. With the US Open Tennis, International Yachting in Cowes, (with the infamous Fastnet Race), Motor Racing with F1, Rallying and Indy Cars, the lead up to the Rugby World Cup, and the World Championship in Athletics, Stade de France, Paris. BUT for us GOLF Fanatics, what about Tiger ? Having put my foot in my mouth in last month's newsletter, Am I willing to again say . . . Tiger is Ready . . . ? It would appear his operation and/or his new interests have taken the edge off his play. However, his worse day is still well ahead of the average tour player. OR is it because the opposition are working to get closer ? We do have a huge line up of talent for the Final Major. Try . . Beem, Brooks, Cabrera, Campbell, Clarke, Couples (my favourite), Duval, Els, Funk, Furyk, Garcia, Goosen, Mediate, Mickelson (yes included), (an inform) Montgomerie, Parry, Price (Nick and Phillip), Singh, Toms, Westwood, Weir and Woods. Then there are Calcavecchia, Coreres, John Daley, Dredge, Faxon, Fulke, Hoch, Immelman, Leaney, Lonard, Norman, Olazabal, Poulter, Romero, Scott Adams, Taturangi and Watson. And whether someone comes out of the pack, or one of the known guys takes the it, it should and will present another great show. I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com Greg Paul __________________________________________________________ *** COMPETITION The winner for July is Kevin Wills of Beachlands, Auckland.
