GoforGOLF . . . NEWSLETTER FIFTY ONE . . . GoforGOLF

Newsletter Number 51 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ NOW In our FIFTH year and with 23,000 scorecards entered and courses from over 46 countries . . . and growing by the day. You are welcome to pass this newsletter on to friends. ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** Can Tiger do it *** Competition Winners *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN ONE Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** HandiTIPS *** Suggestions, Questions and Comments *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Triple Bogey ************************************************************************ *** Can TIGER do IT With another cut made by Tiger Woods this week at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Tiger has now achieved 111 consecutive cuts, just two away from Byron Nelson's Record 113. A hiccup 4 bogeys in the first 7 holes in the second round, put the achievement of the record at risk, but, then 7 birdies on the final 11 holes saved the position with a finish of 3 under, 8 behind the leader Adam Scott, and leaving Tiger with a recently unfarmiliar grin as he left the 9th (his 18th). We will all have to wait to find out, as he is not entered for this weeks Bell Canadian Open. Perhaps it might be at the WGC-American Express Championship, where Tiger is the defending Champion. Keep an eye on our "Slice of News" section of GoforGOLF to know when Tiger is competing next . . . we will bring it to you as soon as we know. http://www.goforgolf.com/a_sliceonews.asp I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com Greg Paul __________________________________________________________ *** COMPETITION As the General Manager of the Golf Update magazine is overseas we do not have the winner for August as yet. I had been playing fairly well and stood on the tee with a 9 iron. I noticed my playing partner hitting a wedge slightly big and was going to chnage the club. However as my bag was some 10 YARDS!! away I decided to hit an easy 9. Two bounces later it was in the hole. Make sure you enter you email address . . . how else can we notify the winner. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into. __________________________________________________________ *** HandiTIPS 1. Slope Rating System I still see many registrations in countries that use the US Slope Rating System, are not ticking the box that invokes the automatic use of the Slope Rating functions within GoforGOLF. Once you have signed in, just go to the 'Change your Details' button on the Green Menu. Immediately above your Handicap/Index, tick the box, to "Use USGA Slope Rating for score entry". 2. Added a course recently ? Don't forget to add the other tees for the course. Go to the 'Enter a Score' page, and in the second/yellow box, you will find an 'Add Tee' button alongside the Current Tee display. You don't have to enter the club details again, just the information for the new tee. (Tick the box at the end of the line, if you are entering a Ladies Tee - This enable different 'Hole Strokes' from the mens tee). It's easy 3. Change your Details Don't forget to keep you own details up to date. If you have changed your email address, just click the 'Change your Details' button on the Green Menu, to ensure your address is correct. Otherwise you will miss the next GoforGOLF newsletter. Email me on . . . greg@goforgolf.com . . . and I will help you with any problems you may have with registering and entering your scorecards and courses. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Suggestions, questions and comments are welcomed.
