Newsletter Number 63 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ Now in our 6th year with over 28,000 scorecards entered and courses from over 48 countries . . . and growing by the day. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE CREATED THIS GOLFING ENVIROMENT . . . ************************************************************************ Vijah Singh - Number ONE Vijah Singh - Number ONE Congratulations from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** The Reign is Over *** Competition Winner *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN ONE Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** HandiTIPS *** Suggestions, Questions and Comments *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Golf Accessory ************************************************************************ *** THE REIGN IS OVER I REMEMBER when Tiger was so far ahead of all other pro golfers, we would say he could and would never be caught. That is now 3 or 4 years back. NOW we have seen the fantastic reign of Tiger Woods come to an end. While still reflecting on the wonderment of Tiger's Rise and incredible authority of over 5 years, we now 'have to' consider the achievement of Vijah. Absolutely the hardest worker on the USPGA Tour, Vijah is known to be the last to leave the practice tee. He has won 6 PGA Tournaments this year Driving Distance - 11th Driving Accuracy - 146th ?? - (strange but) Greens In Regulation - 1st - (Great Recovery) Birdie Average - 3rd Par 4 Birdies - 3rd Total Eagles - 15 - 1st Total Birdies - 377 - 1st Scoring Average - 2nd Scoring Average before Cut - 2nd Longest Drive - 364 yards - only 44th (Stats courtesy of the USPGA website) He has put in the time and the work, to challenge Tiger, and now Vijah has achieved it. Well Done VIJAH SINGH from GoforGOLF . . . . THE 2004 RYDER CUP Starts on 14th September 2004 I REMEMBER, (yes again), when I was about to fly to the other side of the world, New Zealand to England, to see the Ryder Cup. A particular event destroyed my trip and the lives of many. . . . September 11. I never actually got my luggage closed . . . I was unable to go anywhere. Lucky in many ways. Enough reminising from me - What about THE RYDER CUP 2004 This IS lining up to be another great event. Held in the USA this year, Oakland Hills Country Club, Michigan gives the US team the home advantage. Usually that makes the difference between two superbly talented and matched teams. For details, try http://www.pga.com/rydercup This includes all you want to know, including the Teams. And to the graphics of the TV coverage, where a New Zealand technology company is leading the world on golf graphics. Watch it and see the shots and positions shown with distances of each shot down to the metre/yard. How Long will Vijah hold the top place or will Tiger fight bacK? I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com Greg Paul __________________________________________________________ *** AUGUST COMPETITION The winner for August was Jason Bowles. A REAL Handi Tip A most useful tip to know is that if you click on the GoforGOLF logo on the top left of each page, it will return you to the Home Page. Very helpful if you get lost on GoforGOLF 2. Internet Things You may from time to time have a problem with your connection to GoforGOLF. This is most likely an internet problem, and not a problem with the GoforGOLF website. If you leave it for a short time, then try again, more than likely the connection will occur without a problem. 3. Added a course recently ? Don't forget to add the other tees for the course. Go to the 'Enter a Score' page, and in the second/yellow box, you will find an 'Add Tee' button alongside the Current Tee display. You don't have to enter the club details again, just the information for the new tee. (Tick the box at the end of the line, if you are entering a Ladies Tee - This enable different 'Hole Strokes' from the mens tee). It's easy Email me on . . . greg@goforgolf.com . . . and I will help you with any problems you may have with registering and entering your scorecards and courses. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Suggestions, questions and comments are welcomed.
