This is restricted to the winners of 2004 US PGA Tournaments, and includes most of the top players on the US Tour. The action has started as 2004 finished, with Vijay Singh showing the way, with Ernie Els in hot pursuit and Tiger Woods right on their heals. Is this an indicator of things to come this year. See current results on: http://www.goforgolf.com/a_sliceonews.asp And some interesting Statistics to start the year: Tiger Woods has now gone 133 consecutive events without missing a cut. Byron Nelson (113) trails in second place. Jack Nicklaus (105) is the only other 100-club member. The most cuts made are 587 by Tom Kite. Raymond Floyd (583) then Jay Haas (575) and Arnold Palmer (543). The most top-10 finishes are 358 by Sam Snead. The most in one season, 31 by Harold Jug McSpaden in 1945. The most consecutive top-10s are 65 by Byron Nelson between 1942 and 1946. Have a great golfing year. I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com Greg Paul __________________________________________________________ *** DECEMBER COMPETITION The winner for October was Robert Lane, Waitakere City, North Harbour New Zealand. Changes to Courses If your home course, ends with 3 dots, it indicates that there has been a change to your course, significant enough that we have had to enter new course details. This usually occurs from a redesign of a course or where the par of holes have changed. Both these cause changes that effect the corrected score and stableford calculations of GoforGOLF, whereas, if it is only a change in the yardage of a hole, we can easily update that detail. If you find the 3 dots, select the 'Change your Details' button once you have 'signed in' and go to the 'Choose your home or Default Course' display. Click the down arrow, and select the new course layout for your course. If you find a course has made changes to their layout and scorecard, please let us know, or even better, send us a scorecard, and we will update the details on GoforGOLF: Greg at greg@goforgolf.com 2. Circled Score I am frequently asked what the "circled" score function is in GoforGOLF. This is called different things in different countries. Click on the link nelow and go to the HandiTips section http://www.goforgolf.co.nz/newsletter/news64.asp 3. New Members - Welcome - useful tips To help you enjoy GoforGOLF I make the following suggestions: a. Password - Don't make it too difficult or too long, as you need to type it in each time you visit GoforGOLF. (Unless you choose to 'automatically' remember it). Please do not start with a zero, '0', as it makes it difficult for us to search if you forget your password. b. If you forget your access number or password, don't register again, use the 'Forgot your Details?' button on the green menu, and we will email you back. Send us your access number if you can, it is on your last newsletter. Remember, the more scores you enter, the better the analysis will be. c. Select your Home or Default course. This can be the most used course you play, and it will automatically load when you 'Sign In'. You can still select other courses in the usual way, but, this will save you time when you play your own/usual course. This is accessed through the 'Change your Details' button on the green menu, once you have 'Signed In'. d. You can change your 'Handicap Index' at the time you enter your score. Just tick the box alongside the 'Handicap Index' once you have selected the course you played and have entered the date you played, and your master information will be updated, ready for next time. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Suggestions, questions and comments are welcomed.
