Entering a NEW Course - STROKE Many terms in golf vary from country to country. When entering a new course into GoforGOLF the term "stroke" is often missinterpreted as your first score. However, it is necessary to enter the course first, before you are able to enter your score. The term Stroke refers to "Stroke Index" which is aften also referred to as "Handicap" on many scorecards. This is the rating of each hole from 1 to 18, where 1 is considered the hardest hole and 18 the easiest. Each hole must have a unique stroke number. Don't get confused with PAR, also known as Par Rating, which is the number of shots a zero handicap player is expected to take on that hole, usually between 3 and 5, and dependent on the length of the hole and its difficulty. 2. Finding a Course on GoforGOLF Often courses may be entered under a different district/location to the one you expect. That is because we have tried to aline the districts to the district your Golf Association uses. To help check for a course, use the 'Search by Name' facility. a. Select the country b. Skip the location and enter the course name (or part of) in the 'Search by Name' box and Click the Search Button. This will list all courses in the country that match your course name. Check that that yours is not listed before entering a new one. 3. 2005 NZ OPEN Photos View our Photos from each day of the 2005 Holden New Zealand Open in the GoforGOLF CHIPS Photo Gallery. http://www.goforgolf.com/chips.asp Holiday Golf snaps - ALSO HELP us grow the gallery by sending in your golf holiday photographs. Also, check out the other special Photo features including photos of Tiger Woods' journey down under for the 2002 NZ Open. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS & COMMENTS Suggestions, questions and comments are welcomed.
