GoforGOLF . . . NEWSLETTER EIGHTY FIVE . . . GoforGOLF
Newsletter Number 85 from GoforGOLF ************************************************************************ Now in our 8TH YEAR with over 38,000 scorecards entered and courses from over 54 countries . . . and growing by the day. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE CREATED THIS GOLFING ENVIRONMENT . . . ************************************************************************ IN THIS ISSUE *** Innovation *** Competition Winner *** Holes in One and Eagles *** WIN ONE Dozen Premium Golf Balls *** HandiTIPS *** More Golf & Sports Links *** Sweet Spot ************************************************************************ *** InNOVAtion *** FedEx Cup *** PGA Tour Announcement Are we seeing some innovation from the usually stayed organisation of the US Golf Organisation. It appears to me, that without disrupting the schedule to any extent, they have introduced another point of interest for both the players and the spectators. What seemed a drawn out year long schedule, starting in early January, and not finishing until after the funny season of November and December, it has introduced two more cut off dates, and has by using a points system, taken away, to a large extent, the big dollar factor of the Majors and big sponsor tournaments. I like that factor, as it will encourage those players who are just off the pace, to accumulate "points", as the top guys will not be able to overtake them by just winning a major. Then to have the 4 event Playoffs, there will be another 4 events where you will know the top 10 will ALL be there. For a detailed description of the FedEx Cup starting in 2007, go to: http://www.pgatour.com/fedexcup/announcement And click on the link to the "FedEx Cup - Fan Guide" link. It will be interesting to see how it works. So far I think it is great. - - - - - - For you sports fanatics - particularly those in the southern hemisphere, the Soccer World Cup is nearly over. Wimbledon will be finished. However, Le Tour de France continues, but luckily the Rugby Trinations is close to home. So we may be recovered sufficiently to be ready to watch THE OPEN. I did pick it right, and it was "someone out of the pack" that won the US Open . . . It was great to see Geoff Ogilvy, another Australasian win, following on last years success of Kiwi Michael Campbell. . . . . . I am not going to try and pick a winner for this one. Best just to say, it will probably be one of the top 10, or someone out of the pack. . . . . . * * * BE IN TO WIN * * * THE OPEN Competition * * * Email me at greg@goforgolf.com with the "subject" . . . "The Open" WITH YOUR PICK for the winner, and be in to win a copy of the CD "Play Better Golf" by Top hypnotherapist Grant Boddington http://www.nzhypnosis.com/play-better-golf-cd.html (In the case of more than one correct entry, I will draw a winner, or 2) - - - - - There was no winner for the US Open, so I chose Regan Shaw. Email me Regan with delivery details. Enjoy the Golf Greg Paul I do invite and encourage you to send me your views on my comments to email greg@goforgolf.com __________________________________________________________ *** JUNE / JULY COMPETITION Oooops . . .
