Slope Handicap System GoforGOLF is completely set up to use the US Slope Rating handicap system. All courses that have a slope rating have a Slope Rating Chart available on their web page. Also, by selecting to use the Slope Rating System, your handicap index will automatically be converted to your "course handicap", and your stableford calculated using this. To use the Slope System, click 'Change your Details', and tick the 'Use USGA Slope Rating for score entry' box. If you only sometimes play a rated course, click the button anyway, to ensure the Slope Rating system will operate Whenever it is available. 2. What does that Mean ? There are some regular questions asked about golfing terms, and how GoforGOLF interpretes them. Many commonly know actions, terms and expressions, have different names in different countries in the world. If you can not find an explanation of a term used on GoforGOLF, either in "GoforGOLF HELP" or in the HandiTIPS in previous newsletters, see 'Newsletter Archive', OR would just like an explanation of a golfing term, then email me, and I will attempt to create an international dictionary. Email me on . . . greg@goforgolf.com . . . and I will help you with any problems you may have with registering and entering your scorecards and courses. REMEMBER the more scorecards you enter, the better the analysis you will receive from GoforGOLF. __________________________________________________________ *** MORE GOLF & SPORTS LINKS The US Open is only ONE week away: For updated news try: http://www.usopen.com And course coverage: Oakmont Country Club: http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/ (Some sites don't seem to load on the first attempt - try a second time) The USPGA Tour for June 2007: 31 to 3 Jun Memorial Tournament Muirfield Village GC, OH http://www.thememorialtournament.com/ http://www.nicklaus.com/design/muirfieldvillage/ 7 to 10 Jun Stanford St Jude Champs TPC Southwind, TN http://www.stanfordstjude.com/ http://www.tpcatsouthwind.com/ 14 to 17 Jun U S Open Championship Oakmont CC, PA http://www.usopen.com/ http://www.usopen.com/course/ Click the image for each hole http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/ 21 to 24 Jun Travelers Championship TPC River Highlands, CT http://www.travelerschampionship.com/ http://www.tpcatriverhighlands.com/ 28 to 01 Jul Buick Open Warwick Hills G&CC, M http://www.buickopen.pgatour.com/ http://warwickhills.org/ 5 to 8 Jul AT&T National Congressional CC, MD http://www.attnational.org/ hosted by Tiger Woods http://www.ccclub.org/ The 2007 European Tour: 31 to 3 Jun Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open Celtic Manor, Wales http://www.walesopen.com/ http://www.celtic-manor.com/golf.aspx 7 to 10 Jun BA-CA Golf Open Fontana GC, Austria http://www.ba-ca-golfopen.at/ http://www.fontana.at/golf/ 14 to 17 Jun open de St Omer Aa St Omer GC, France http://www.golfopensaintomer.com/ http://www.aa-st-omer-golfclub.com/ 21 to 24 Jun BMW International Open Golfclub Munchen Eichenried http://bmw-golfsport.com/gs/en/ http://www.gc-eichenried.de/ http://bmw-yachtsport.com/ys/en/ Well the americas cup 28 to 01 Jul Open de France Le Golf National, Paris, Fr http://www.opendefrance.fr/ http://www.golf-national.com/ 05 to 08 Jul Smurfit European Open The K Club, Dublin, Ireland http://www.kclub.ie/golf/european-open.asp http://www.kclub.ie/golf/ The 2007 US Ladies LPGA Tour 31 to 3 Jun Ginn Tribute hosted by Annika RiverTowne CC, SC http://www.ginntribute.com/ http://www.rivertownecountryclub.com/ 7 to 10 Jun McDonald's LPGA Championship Bulle Rock GC, MD http://www.mcdslpgachampionship.com/ http://www.bullerock.com/ 21 to 24 Jun Wegmans Rochester International Locust Hill CC, NY http://www.rochesterlpga.com/ http://www.locusthillgolfcourse.com/ 28 to 01 Jul U S Women's Open Pines Needles, NC http://www.uswomensopen.com/ http://www.pineneedles-midpines.com/ The 2007 EUROPEAN Ladies Tour 1 to 3 Jun Northern Ireland Ladies Open Hilton Templepatrick Hotel http://www.hilton.co.uk/templepatrick/ 8 to 10 Jun KLM Ladies Open Eindhovensche GC, Holland http://www.klmopen.nl/klmladiesopen/ http://www.eindhovenschegolf.nl/ 15 to 17 Jun Catalina Ladies Masters Club de Golf Masia Bach, Spain http://www.golfmasiabach.com/ 21 to 24 Jun Vediorbis Open de France Le Golf d'Arras, France http://www.golf-openfrancedames.com/ http://www.arras-golfclub.com/ 29 to 01 Jul Ladies Open de Portugal Gramacho GC, Algarve http://www.pestanagolf.com/ Click the Gramacho course 5 to 7 Jul Golf Punk Ladies English Open Chart Hills GC, England http://www.ladiesenglishopen.co.uk/ http://www.charthills.co.uk/ Many of the above courses are in the GoforGOLF course directory And other sporting sites, http://www.rolandgarros.com/ French Tennis Open - underway http://www.allblacks.com/ International season against France & Canada on 9th & 16th June http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/ Starts in France on 7th September http://www.wimbledon.org/ Wimbledon Championship - starts 25th June http://www.letour.fr/ Tour de France commences 7th July This website gives you all the info Check it again when the event starts ************ THEN THERE IS . . .
